Greetings from the Grand Canyon—A Reminder to Slow Down and Reset

Tomorrow, I’m heading into the Grand Canyon for a backpacking trip—a chance to unplug, reconnect with nature, and reset. I can’t help but think back to my first backpacking trip here over ten years ago. My brother and I set out, not knowing what we were getting into, and it ended up being an experience that changed me. Now, all these years later, we’re back, exploring a new route together. It feels like a full-circle moment.

This trip is already reminding me of something I often forget in daily life—how important it is to slow down. We get caught up in the hustle, pushing through the grind, and often neglect to listen to our bodies. But when you’re out in nature, with everything you need on your back, there’s no choice but to tune in and be present with yourself.

I know from past backpacking trips that it’s easy to push through when you’re feeling strong, but it’s just as important to listen when your body needs a break. I expect I’ll be reminded of that again on this trip: hydration, stretching, and pausing when necessary will be key to keeping my energy up.

Spending time in the wilderness has a way of showing you how much your body is capable of, but also how much care it needs. It’s a reminder that we can’t just keep going without tending to ourselves. In nature, I’m reminded that strength isn’t just about pushing through; it’s about listening and honoring the signals your body sends.

I’ll be back next week with reflections from the trail, but for now, I want to encourage you to take a moment today to check in with your body. How are you feeling? Are you feeling tension, fatigue, or stress? Maybe it’s time to give yourself some care, whether it’s through movement, rest, or a little extra attention.

If it’s been a while since you’ve given your body the time it deserves, I’d love to help. Whether it’s a massage, a stretch, or just some quiet time to reset, I’m here to support you.

Take care of yourself—you deserve it.
