An Update on My Somatic Coaching Journey
Over the past several months, I’ve been in a somatic (body-oriented) coaching program through The Somatic School, and this work has been unfolding in really meaningful ways.
I’ve been loving this approach and have found so much joy in holding space for people somatically. It’s felt like a natural extension of how I already care for others — slower, more present, and deeply attuned. At the same time, it’s been a powerful process of learning about myself: noticing my own patterns, listening more closely to my body, and continuing to deepen my relationship with it.
What is somatic coaching?
Somatic coaching is different from traditional talk-based coaching. Rather than staying only in the mind or the story, we gently bring awareness to what’s happening in the body in the present moment — sensations, emotions, patterns, and nervous system responses.
From this place of awareness, clarity often emerges naturally. There’s less forcing, less pushing for answers, and more listening for what’s already there.
I’ve found somatic coaching to be especially supportive for:
navigating life transitions or decisions
relationships and communication
stress, burnout, and overwhelm
feeling stuck or disconnected
learning to trust your body’s signals and inner wisdom
