Your Body Already Knows: How to Hear Its Yes and No

So often, we look outside ourselves for answers — we poll friends, overthink, make pros and cons lists, or ask for signs.
But your body has been speaking to you all along.

The truth is, your body already knows.
It holds a deep, intuitive wisdom that’s always guiding you — if you know how to listen.

The Language of the Body

Your body speaks through sensations, not sentences.
It might whisper through a flutter in your chest, a heaviness in your gut, or a soft opening in your heart. These cues are your nervous system’s way of saying, this feels right or something’s off.

A “yes” in the body might feel like warmth, openness, lightness, or expansion.
A “no” might feel like tension, constriction, shallow breath, or a desire to pull back.

Learning to recognize these signals takes time, curiosity, and a willingness to slow down — but once you do, it changes everything.

How to Start Listening

Try this short practice the next time you’re faced with a decision (big or small):

  1. Pause. Take a deep breath and drop your awareness from your mind into your body.

  2. Ask. Say to yourself: “What would a yes feel like right now?” Notice what sensations arise.

  3. Then ask: “What would a no feel like?” Observe the difference without judgment.

  4. Trust. Let your body lead — even if your mind wants to overanalyze.

The goal isn’t to think your way to the right choice, but to feel your way toward alignment.

Why This Matters

When you live disconnected from your body, it’s easy to override your needs, ignore your boundaries, and operate on autopilot.
Somatic coaching helps bridge that gap — inviting you back into relationship with your body as a compass for clarity, safety, and truth.

In my own practice, I’ve seen how powerful it can be when people start trusting these internal signals. Whether through massage, myofascial release, or somatic coaching, the body begins to feel heard — and that’s when real healing happens.

An Invitation

If you’ve been feeling unsure, stuck, or disconnected from your intuition, start by coming home to your body.
It doesn’t need to be complicated — just a few moments each day to pause, breathe, and listen.

Your body already knows. All that’s left is to trust it.
